A Socio-Semiotic Theory of Learning in ISO-Meetings

The paper examines the interplay between meetings, learning and spatiality in organisational sellings, and proposes a theoretical model of organisational learning upon the tenets of the practice-based socio-semiotic approach to learning. The empirical work was done in an organisation in the public sector in Mexico; which at the time of this study, was undergoing a process of re-certification in ISO 9000. The regular meetings of the employees of the organization for the certification process served as sites of learning and know ledge gathering issues related to quality and ISO 9000, and its planned output was suggestions for quality improvement and problem solving.
