Knowledge and Skills for Content Organization in Web-Based Products

The knowledge and skill required of the information professional to function effectively in the digital library environment are influenced by:

• The nature of the environment in which he/she is expected to perform;

• The changing demands and expectations of information users; and

• The types of products and services to be developed and provided to meets those demands and expectations.

In the light of these issues, this paper briefly examines the knowledge and skills required for developing web-based information products and services.
