Growth of Pbsnanocompounds from Bis-(3-Phenyldithiocarbazato) Lead(II) Complex
Subscribe/Renew Journal
The lead based complex with potassium 3-phenyldithiocarbazate, bis-(3-phenyldithiocarbazato) lead(II), was used for the preparation of nanosizedPbS compounds. The complex was thermally decomposed in ethylene glycol without using any surfactants or additivesunder soft reaction condition to prepare PbS nanocompounds. The products have been verifiedby transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and absorption spectroscopy. The diffused diffraction rings of the SAED pattern are the confirmation of prepared nanosized particles. TEM image shows the particles are irregular in nature and non-spherical shaped. UV-Vis optical spectroscopic study was carried out to determine the band gap energy of the nanocrystalline PbScompound and it is found to be 1.08eV.
