Cotton is being produced, processed and consumed since about 3000 B.C., contributing to the protection, safety and the well being of the people1. This environment friendly, bio-degradable fibre has some distinct advantageous properties2 such as, moderate dry and wet tensile strength, appreciable moisture regain, good moisture transport property, freedom from static charge generation and pleasant feel.
