Kadambini Ganguly:Achievement & Discovery

Kadambini Ganguly, along with Anandi Gopal josiii, was one of the first female graduate of the British Empire in India. In South Asia, she was the first female physician.
Kadambini Ganguly, the daughter of Brahmo reformer Braja Kishore Basu, was bom in 1861 at Bhagalpur, Bihar in British India. Her family was from Barisal (now in Bangladesh). Her father was the headmaster of Bhagalpur School. Brajakishore and Abhay Charan Mallick started the movement for women’s emancipation at Bhagalpur, establishing the women’s organisation ‘Bhagalpur Mahila Samiti’ in 1863, the first in India.
