Landscape Limnology of South Sector of Ranchi, India

A 40 Sq Km. area lying in southern Ranchi city was studied for landscape limnology. The matrix and patches, edge and boundaries are the main feature of the Landscape. A characteristic of the patch is low interior to edge ratio. Fragmentation of the habitat is due to human intervention specially for resource utilization. The landscape shows dynamic and recovery phase on yearly basis specially in monsoon. Finally measures were devised to restore this landscape and flora & fauna.
