The pods are identified on the satellite imagery of the Kolar schist belt as well as on the composite map prepared, based on six Landsat images covering the important gold field areas. The relation between the mineralization and the pods has been ascertained. The need to identify the paleo drainage pattern to locate potential placer deposits and the study of the pods individually using image processing techniques are emphasized.

The relation between the mineralization and the pods has been ascertained. The need to identify the paleo drainage pattern to locate potential placer deposits and the study of the pods individually using image processing techniques are emphasized.
