Creation of knowledge like science and technology, innovation, research and entrepreneurship in different areas such as education i.e. Edupreneurship, Agripreneurship, Tourism entrepreneurship. Social entrepreneurship. Micro and Small and Medium enterprises are required for commercial and economic activity and growth of a nation. Unemployment and underemployment of men and women are serious problem in India which influences the formation of entrepreneurship and family enterprise. Large organisation encourages intrapreneurship routinely. The inability to find employment creates different types of entrepreneurship both in manufacturing and service sectors. To build India into an economically sound, scientifically advanced, the country requires the service of scientist, technologist, specialist and skilled people of numerous other disciplines. Economic Survey, information and data from Department of Micro, Small and Medium enterprise. Government of India, information from Knowledge Commission, and statistics on economic activity indicates that the entrepreneurship is central to making business, job opportunities, resources and economic and commercial growth. Effective gender sensitive planning and evaluation data should be generated for further development. In short it can be written that Business is an economic activity, A Business firm is an economic unit and business decision-making is an economic process.
In this paper an effort has been made to discuss the various features of entrepreneurship and its influence on employment opportunities and economic activities in India.
