This is how Devi Durga responded to the complaints of superpowerful asura ‘Shumbha’. It means, “I am the only that exists in this universe, who else could be there? Oh! notorious! behold! How all these appliances and ancillaries enter me and disappear”. As an extended elucidation, Dr. Gobinda Gopal Mukhopadhyay writes, Devi Durga showed how all other Goddesses, energy like Brahman got destroyed and disappeared intermingled, within Her holy body. She did so in order to visibly demonstrate Her uniqueness, Her nonsecondness. Through this symbolic description in the Puranas, it was declared that all other energies are only the transforms of one source of energy; only its specific expressions. All are supported by that very central force: specially evolved or formed out of It. Formulation and destruction take place all at the womb of that very supreme power; at the behest of that very primary soul.
