Around 700 people have lost their lives due to encephalitis within India in 2014, The cases of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome reported from UP, Bihar, Assam and West Bengal. This disease has claimed 208 lives in West Bengal, 197 in Assam, 159 in Bihar and 123 in Uttar Pradesh. Adults as well as children below the age of 15 years are affected with this Encephalitis Syndrome. The author has tried to elaborate the causes and its treatment procedure of this acute disease in this article.
