Goodbye Plastic Bags
Subscribe/Renew Journal
A menace that stares darkly at the eyes of we Indians is the plastic waste comprising carry bags for groceries and vegetables, drinking water bottles and pouches, shampoo sachets, packets for biscuits and snacks. Not amenable to biodegradation and difficult to get rid off unless recycled, this ubiquitous dreadful waste is smothering growth of vegetation, preventing rainwater recharge and killing hungry cattle which roam around the streets. Plastics have also entered the food chain. Its high time that the public bids goodbye to plastic bags.
