Our review deals with the unique phenomenon of hibernation in the animal world and its endocrine control. The probable cause of hibernation; how animals overcome the environmental stress by hibernating are discussed here. This review introspects the role of different hormones during the process of hibernation in animals finally the effect of global warming on hibernating animals is also highlighted.
