Pheromones: Messages in the Air

The study of Pheromones is one of the most important, interesting, as - well - as, intriguing in the field of Communication biology. The modes of intraspecific communication in animals via pheromones (odour substances / chemicals) are quite fascinating. Characteristics, origins, chemical natures and the importance of pheromones are discussed in details in the present article. The "Releaser" and "Priming" actions of pheromones are described in details with examples. A special emphasis was also given on a recently developed field concerning Human pheromones, - particularly in relation with sexual behavior.
