The present paper, in its initial phase, aims to explore the theoretical base of education in relation to culture to understand social process prevailing in institutional setup. Importance of educational research on social aspects has been stressed in this section, where status of education from disciplinary perspective has also been analyzed. Next section of the paper devoted to rationale analysis of boundary disputes between sociology and education. Expectations from educational research, especially which are incorporating social aspects, has been brought into light in the penultimate section of the paper.
