Film Posters and the Male Gaze: Hollywood Vs Bollywood– A Comparative Viewpoint

The presentation and representation of women on celluloid, whether in so called
liberated emancipated nations (Hollywood) or the generally accepted inferior nations
(Bollywood) are likewise dictated by the male gaze, though the areas of reference may be disparate. It is surprising that even today, mostly women film makers focus on women as individuals in their films and do not sexualize her or her context.
