Abstract
Worldover today, cancer is increasingly recognised as an important public health problem. In India, cancer is reported to be the sixth leading cause of death. According to Wynder many factors in the environment including the air we breathe, the water we drink, the regions in which we work and live and the food we eat are all potential causes of cancer.
