Sectoral Trend and Pattern in Indian Economy:A Quantitative Analysis

The aim of this paper to analyze the trend/pattern and the trend are accelerate/decelerate the in three important sectors (Agriculture, Industry and Services Sector) in India for the period 1980-2012. In this purpose the log linear model had applied and analysis concentrated for entire period (1980-2012) and three sub period (1980-1990, 1991-2001, and 2002-2012). The empirical results shows, the trend of agriculture, industry and services sectors have increased. And in case of acceleration/deceleration the trend growth is accelerated in industry and services except the agriculture sector for the entire period (1980-2012).Only the services sector trend growth is accelerated for the period 1980-1990 but inconclusive for the agriculture and industrial sector for the period 1980-1990. The average annual trend growth in case of industry is decelerate but in case of services its shows the trend accelerate for the period 1991-2001 and also inconclusive for the agriculture sector for the period 1991-2001. The results also confirms that the average annual trend growth is decelerate in both sectors (industry and services) for the period 2002-2012 and also inconclusive for the agriculture sector for the period 2002-2012.
