Abstract
Batteries play a crucial role in SPV applications. In an off-grid plant these serve as the heart of the whole system. Currently the solar market is being dominated by lead-acid batteries. The knowledge about the performance of a particular lead-acid technology can be of vital importance while designing an SPV system. This paper presents results from the performance analysis of flooded, Gel and AGM type of batteries under controlled conditions.
