Abstract

In this research Work high-quality zinc oxide (ZnO) nanostructures have been synthesized on glass substrates by thermal evaporation method. Zinc oxide is a unique material that exhibits semiconducting and piezoelectric dual properties. Using thermal evaporation method, thin films of ZnO has been synthesized under specific growth conditions. Different characterization shows that, these unique nanostructures unambiguously demonstrate that ZnO probably has the richest family of nanostructures among all materials, both in structures and in properties. The nanostructures of ZnO could have novel applications in optoelectronics, sensors, transducers and biomedical sciences. This work shows that the thin films grown by thermal evaporation technique and their corresponding growth mechanism and different characterization. The various applications of ZnO thin films have been demonstrated. The as grown nanostructures of ZnO have been characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Raman Spectroscopy and X-Ray diffraction (XRD) techniques.
