Abstract

Single slope solar still can be used for converting salty water into useful water but this technology has many limitations for practical use; therefore using a double slope solar still is more effective. Double slope solar still consumes the radiation of sun at both the sides. Productivity of the double slope solar still depends on ambient temperature and solar radiation intensity. These are external factors which are not controllable. The internal factors in double slope solar still (i.e. length, width, glass cover area, absorber plate area, slope angle) are controllable. For manufacturing an effective still, we can optimize these factors according to our requirements, but in practical it is difficult to find the optimum value of these parameters during designing stages of still. In this paper we report optimized values of different parameters for manufacturing of an effective solar still using modeling and simulation technique.
