Obituary

Prof. Dr. Subrato Pal did his graduation, Masters & Doctorate degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University.

He came out of a humble village family wherefrom he completed his preuniversity education with credit. After his graduation, he joined J.U. as a teachertrainee, subsequently he became Lecturer, Reader and Professor of Bio-Engineering nurtured by Mech. Engg. Dept. He had by then undergone training in Bio- Engineering in USA for a periof of one year also. He was instrumental for the creation of a Bio-Engineering Section with the authority to start P.G. programme in Bio-Engineering. He worked around prosthesis of knee joint along with a team of doctors from Medical colleges.
