From the Desk of the Editor

Earlier this year, Vol.83 No.1 (January-March, 2013 issue) of the Journal of the Association of Engineers, India was brought out. Now it is the time to publish the April-June, 2013 issue. As usual, the column of the President of the Association, Prof. Madhusudan Bhattacharyya, includes narration of a number of engineering activities he was involved in. Apart from the valuable piece of consultancy works mentioned in this column, his remarks on some of the present-day sociopolitico- economic issues are worth noting. One article written by the eminent educationist late Prof. Hem Chandra Ghosh is included in this issue taken from the past pages of the journal that has historical significance and relevance in today's context. Papers published in this issue are related to electrical engineering, simulation, electronics and communication, chemical engineering and manufacturing.
