Wild Thought of an Outdated Engineer

India is probably one of the very few countries where the whole populace can be classified as millionaires and beggars. Of course there is another class in between who runs the wheels of administration; no wonder, this class is pampered by the rulers.

When business was at its peak, the owners made fortunes without parting any share to the beggars; when there is downturn all the public subsidies, worth the name, go to their relief. What an amazing country ours is! After all big industries are angelic benefactors!

Could a journal published by a leading engineering society of 82 years standing embody articles of a general nature of interest to the society at large? Engineers live not in isolation from the country-men. Even if it is presumed that politics is not their cup of tea, Polity certainly is. In fact, engineers, by the nature of training exposed to during study, develop a logical mindset; they are indispensible for implementation of plans and programmes. This is not so undermine other professionals who are also relevant in polity.
