The subject of discussion is vast and the application of NDT is of utmost importance these days when the cost of installation of 1 MW wanders between 4 to 6 crore rupees depending upon the particular nature of the design of the power plants as to size, nature of fuel etc. Thermal power stations in real sense include all power stations excluding the Hydel, Wind and Solar Generating stations. However in conventional sense, nuclear generating plants are exempted from this category.
