Health & Safety Hazards in Tea Plantation and Tea Processing Industry

Tea industry plays a very important role in our country's economy. Statistics would reveal that the incidence of accidents and occupational diseases in tea industry is usually less as compared to that in other industries. But as accidents retard productivity in any industry, so even this small quantum of accidents and occupational diseases in tea industry also reduces its productivity vis-a-vis economy. Injuries and occupational diseases in such industry can be prevented through proper and addequate safety measures. The causative factors behind such accidents may be many depending upon physical work environment, company's policy, attitude of the management and worker, training and education etc.
