Resource Planning for Maintenance

Equipment, which ever is used for production line, transportation work, or for any other kind of work, cannot run without proper maintenance. Starting from a whistle call maintenance i.e. breakdown maintenance, the total subject can be tackled in various ways like preventive maintenance, preventive periodic repairs which may extend from a periodic overhauling of some equipment to major capital repair of the main equipment with all the auxilaries and accessories, and also other activities which keep the equipment and/or the total system working. It is attempted here to deal with the major and capital repairs of an equipment and/or a plant with a view to achieve gain in overall efficiency in resource utilisation.
