Failure Statistics in Plant Engineering

To combat the growing challenges of maintenance function in achieving the optimum utilisation of plant and equipment terotcchnology-a new discipline emerged in recent times-play quite an useful role. Its domain of activities comprises of design to replacement and the intermediate stages eg. manufacture, installation, commissioning and operation in between.

The present paper is addressed to some terotechnological problems of plant and equipment as affected from tribological mismatch in the context of some terotechnological failures and their probable solutions.
