Design of a Real Square Tube Module Based on the Ideal Basin Concept
Subscribe/Renew Journal
The function of any high rate settling system depends on parameters more than one. The design of such a system from a single expression involves a trial procedure with the arbitrarily selected values of the parameters. Eventually such a procedure of design may not provide good control over the parameters, particularly so far as laminarity of flow through the system is concerned. In this paper a settler module consisting of a matrix of square tubes has been considered. A single square tube, at first, is conceived as an ideal settling zone. Real settling system is compared with this conception and the system is designed. Such a procedure of design is likely to provide good control over the design parameters.
