Tidal Hydro-Electricity:
The shortages of power in the country are keenly felt by all and thought is exercised in methods of obtaining power from every possible source. Tidal wave of the Bay of Bengal is a source which may well be considered. We publish in this issue a paper on "the possibility of hydroelectricity in Gangetic Delta," read by Sri K. B. Banerjee on 4-12-64 before the Association at a General Meeting in the U.S.I.S. Auditorium. We are grateful to the United States Information Service for their kind hospitality in letting us have the use of their beautiful, air-conditioned auditorium. This service is performing a very useful function in improving general knowledge of the modern generation gratuitously, thus removing prejudice and forwarding the progress of World Co-operation in useful and peaceful purposes.
