Sri M. Visvesvaraya-A Brief Sketch of the Career

SIR M. VIVESVARAYA, Grand old Man of India, Father of Economic Planning in India, Veteran Engineer and former Dewan of Mysore is 100 years on 15th September, 1960. The career of Sir Visvesvaraya has been unusually varied and extensive. He has been in active service, or employment of some kind or other, for more than seventy years.

He served three Indian (one Provincial and two State) Governments in Succession.
