Engineer as a National Asset (2)
Subscribe/Renew Journal
'Grow more Engineers' has now become a slogan of our country. The entire brains of the country have been focussed on this subject. The planning commission is utilising all its ways and means to expand the technical education in the country. And the result is rewarding-now we find a large number of Engineering institutions scattered all over the country. Young and brilliant men are now attracted by this profession and a rush of young men is found at the admission counter of all the Engineering institutions. Guardians are now prepared to send their wards to distant places for the technical education and are prepared to bear the heavy expenses on the technical education of their wards. The number of graduates and diploma holders in Engineering coming out of the institutions are now almost tripled than what it was ten years back, but still we often find the newspaper headlines conveying the shortage of technical personnels and the need of opening more and more Engineering institutions in the country. The activities of the Board's of technical education in the country are now at their peak of work, and it appears as if the entire country is trying best to grow more and more Engineers.
