Extracts from the Minutes of the Proceedings:-

An Ordinary Meeting of the Association was held on 24th November, 1954, under the Presidency of Sri J. N. Basu, Sri P. P. Guha, Sri Dhirendra Nath Roy, Sri Monindra Nath Ghosh and Sri A. Dutta Gupta were elected Scrutineers for the purpose of ballot for election of members to the Council for 1955 and a paper was read by Sri S. Basu, B.Sc. (Glas.), A.M.I.E., M.A.E., A.M.Inst.W. (Lond.), on "Ship Design".
