It would not be an exaggeration to say that the advent of Machinery has completely revolutionised the execution of Civil Engineering works-a branch of Engineering which harnesses all the scientific knowledge available for the use and benefit of mankind; In this paper however, we are only concerned with the use of mechanical equipment and the effect it has had on earth moving operations.
