Notes on Steel Rolling

The frictional effects between the bar and the rolls on the rolling resistance is illustrated in the curves in Fig. 4, which are based on Ekelund's results. These are chiefly confined to fairly thick material and the top curve showing the increased frictional effects on thin material is therefore only approximate.
