Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding

On receipt of an order for the construction of a vessel for which a price had previously been quoted the shipbuilder's procedure is as follows:-

(1) Note is taken of differences in the specification to which the order is placed and that to which the tender had been submitted.

(2) An estimate of the alteration in price necessary to meet the desired modification is made out and sent to the customer.
