The development of theoretical analyses of results of tests relating to corner breaks and sub grade reactions

Knowledge of the behaviour of concrete pavements as structures is derived from experience with pavements in use, from tests and from theoretical analysis. Load tests help the interpretation of the mass of observations accumulated in practice and speed up the approach to a rational design of the cross section, not least by demonstrating the importance of the corner break.
