"Approaches to Employment Problems in Rural Areas of India"

India lives in villages and its prosperity will largely depend on the development of rural economy. This paper emphasises the need for the development of rural industries, particularly agro, forest and marine-based industries, by providing employment to a sizeable number of people living in the rural and backward areas. The idea of self employment should be given wide publicity. The need for promoting local entrepreneurship, which is an important element in the development of small-scale industries is stressed.
