Concurrent with the development of semi-probabilistic structural codes, has been the development of collecting extensive and scientific data on live load and analytical procedures to model live loads as a random process. Data on live load, obtained from surveys, provide parameter estimates for the analytical tools. Design of buildings should consider the live load over the lifetime of the structure Indian Standard Code (I) specifies minimum design loads for design of buildings for different types of occupancies.
