An Optimization Study of Suspension Bridge Towers

This study presents the stiffness characteristics of three suspension bridge towers with different bracing systems, but with a constant total weight. Conclusions are made regarding the changes in the stiffnesses of the towers as the weight is distributed in varying proportions between the tower legs and bracing members.
