Small Engine Driven Pumping Sets for Irrigation
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Small engine driven pumping sets (between the range of 3 to 5 BHP) are now increasingly used by farmers for irrigation purpose. In West Bengal, these pumping sets are used for lifting water from wells or ponds to irrigate land between two monsoon periods. In this paper various problems associated with such pumping sets from the point of view of their selection, use and maintenance are discussed with the view to standardise the pumping sets as far as possible.
