Non availability of the right equipment or material in right quantities at right time is the greatest hindrance to smooth functioning of engineering systems, construction projects or manufacturing programmes. In smaller industries and establishments, the distraction of the management by avoidable “material problems” leaves big gap in regard to solving the more important “manpower problem”, including training of staff and technological improvement tasks.
