Report* on the Two Week Course on Fracture Mechanics held on 2nd January, 1989 till 14th January, 1989. The Course was a part of the international Seminar on Terotechnological Impact on Equipment Design held Earlier during 19 and 20th December, 1988

The Course was organised jointly by the Departments of the Mechanical and the Metallurgical Engineering, Jadavpur University. Prof. K. Williams, Sub-Dcan, Faculty of Engineering, Open University, U. K. was invited under the auspices of the British Council Division, The British Dy. High Com* mission, Calcutta to lead the Programme.
