An Edge Notched Card System for Marine Geological Data

The note describes a simple data processing and retrieval system designed for marine geological data. The data for each station are recorded on a single card (18 cm × 14 cm) with mainly a single row of 101 holes; about 97 different data can be coded on a single card. The system has already been put into operation; and to begin with, data for about 140 stations have been coded on the cards, and more are being coded as the information becomes available.
