The Clans of Igneous Rocks and Their Associated Economic Minerals-A Critical Review

A classification of igneous rocks based on the clan concept is critically reviewed in this paper. The various rock clans have been correlated, as far as possible, with their tectonic environments, associations and sedimentation characteristics, if any. The mineralisations associated with each clan have been discussed and their economic significance stressed and outlined.
