Significance of Ultramafic and Associated Enclaves in a Charnockite Quarry near Bhavanisagar, Tamil Nadu

The note describes ultramafic and associated earlier gneissic enclaves within charnockite in a quarry near Bhavanisagar. The continuation of the charnockite fabric into the quartzo-feldspathic gneiss patches and the recrystallized olivine+opx+cpx assemblage of the ultramafic enclaves indicate a late granulite event.
