The Kalidhang clays were deposited in an elongated lake covering 0.17 km2 area formed due to a landslide in the Milkan drainage basin. The deposition took place mainly by fluvial agencies under humid climate during the late Quaternary period. The presence of 145 distinct couplets indicates that sedimentation continued for about 150 years.
