Significance of Grain Size Frequency Data in Interpreting Depositional Environment of the Permian Barakar Sandstone in Rajmahal Basin, Bihar
Subscribe/Renew Journal
The Barakar sandstones are medium to coarse grained, poorly sorted, nearly symmetrical, and leptokurtic sands. The variations in mean, sorting, skewness and kurtosis indicate change in environmental energy conditions. Environmental interpretations indicate that the Barakar sandstones closely resemble modern fluvial sands rather'than either dune or beach sediments.
