Charnockites from the Nilgiri Hills show presence of abundant high-density carbonic (1.05 -1.10 g/cm3) inclusions. The pressure-temperature conditions recorded by fluid inclusions correspond with the P-T data obtained from mineral assemblages (T = 770 ± 60°C, P = 8-9 Kbar) indicating their entrapment near the peak metamorpbic conditions.
