Trace element analysis of red sanders tree species (Pterocarpus santalinus) and their associated soils from deciduous forests of Chittoor, Cuddapah and Nellore districts in the southeastern part of Andhra Pradesh has been studied. The study shows that the heartwood of Pterocarpus santalinus is capable of accumulating large amounts of Sr, Zn and Cu.
