StrictIy localized collection of ammonites has helped demarcate the Bathonian-Callovian boundary in the Middle Jurassic outcrop of the Kuldhar section (Jaisalmer Basin). Latest Bathonian age has been assigned to the association of Sivajiceras congener (Waagen) [M] and Macrocephalites triangularis Spath [M] recorded from the lower "beds" of the Kuldhar Member ("bed" 4), facilitating the placement of the Bathonian-Callovian boundary between "beds" 4 and 5
